Grand Knight’s Message

Thank you to everyone who attended the steak fry. It had a very large turnout, and it was great to see all the families that attended. We were even able to recruit a new member to the council. We are hopeful he will be able to complete his degree ceremony at our next general meeting.
A special thank you to Al Loerzel for chairing the steak fry and helping make it such a success.

We have also wrapped up our Second Sunday Breakfasts for the year, and our fish fries have now concluded for the season.

Looking ahead, our next general meeting will not only include a degree ceremony. It will also host our election of officers for the coming year. If you are interested in serving as an officer, it is not too late. Please reach out to one of the current officers. If you are interested in serving as a lector, please let me know.

Thank you all for your continued support and involvement.

Vivat Jesus!

Auxiliary News

Shalom (Hebrew for hello) Ladies,
Happy May, everyone! We are finally moving into the warmer months!

Thank you to those who were able to make both the steak fry on Wednesday, the 15th, and for the meeting on Thursday, the 16th. Steak fry had a good turnout as we welcomed those who graduated from RCIA this year and their sponsors. I am excited for these individuals as they move forward in their knowledge and understanding of their beliefs.

At this month’s meeting, we had multiple topics to discuss. First, I need to congratulate you and thank all of you for the remarkable success our book drive was. We collected over 1700 books and 100 stuffies, Legos, and fidget toys! These items will be an immense help to the Children’s Hospital of Minnesota and the families that they serve.

Ladies Night Out is scheduled for Thursday, May 21st, at 6 pm. We will be going to Esmerelda’s in Riverdale, Coon Rapids. I will be sending out a separate email with more details and getting a headcount for this.

We had election of officers. All current officers, except for the secretary, were willing to stay in their current positions for the next year. I want to thank Catherine Rockow, as vice president, she has also taken on the role of secretary and will be tracking our meeting’s minutes.

Saturday, April 25th, is the Spring Meeting (formally known as Convention). Our friends at the Maple Grove Auxiliary are graciously hosting this meeting for us. The day starts around 8:45 am with registration and goes until 2 pm.

We discussed our annual donations to the Student Loans program, Respect Life program, Jim Campbell Fund, and Pennies for Seminarians program. We chose to donate $100 to each program. We also donated $400 to the Special Olympics group, which is the charity being supported at the Spring Meeting. Upon request from the Maple Grove Auxiliary, we will be donating some gift cards for their raffle. I am excited to see all who attend and what comes from the meeting.

Lastly, here are some announcements:
1) Ladies' installation of officers and audit is scheduled for Thursday, July 16th. Jean has graciously agreed to let us use her place for this once again. I will send an email with more information about this out later.

2) Men’s Year End Dinner is scheduled for Thursday, June 18th. The dinner is being held at Bev’s place in the party room. I will also send out an email with information about this and Bev’s address.

Financial Secretary (FS) Notes
Raffle Tickets and Fundraiser

I want to thank everyone for a pretty successful year. We sold 253 raffle tickets with half of the money raised coming back to us. We also did very well with all of the other fundraising. PFS $585.00, Jim Campbell $320.00, Student Loan $420.00, Food Shelf $420.00, HS Scholarship $500.00, and Wheelchair $180.00 (combined with the last 2 years we will send a check for $600.00 to buy four wheelchairs).

Have you moved, have you changed your phone number, have you made a change to your email address?
Please keep the council updated when you have a change of address, change of phone number and finally a change to your email. It really helps us to keep track of where to send things to you. If you have any changes, please forward them onto the FS.

Please look at the back of your membership card. What do you see? It has my contact info. Please make sure your loved ones know this in case you are sick or have passed away.

Former Officers,
The FS is looking for Council Jewels that you may have in your possession. Please turn them in as soon as possible. Bring them to the office at St. Tim’s, we have a mail slot that they can be left in. Thank you.

Members in hospital etc.?
Please contact the FS so that the council can send a card.

Reminder to send me your service hours as often as you would like. Many hours go by each day that we never hear about. Each day we each volunteer our time doing something above and beyond.
