Grand Knight’s Message

Congratulations to Blake Miskowiec on becoming a member of the Knights of Columbus. We are grateful for his commitment to charity, unity, and fraternity!

Our annual fish fries have officially started up for the season. Whilst the end of our breakfast season is in sight.

The ladies are hosting a book, and toys drive for the children's hospital. Looking for books specifically for kids ages 8-12. Support it if you can.

Proceeds for the April breakfast will be donated to Don Hosford to help pay his medical expenses. We would like to add either a bake sale or some other fundraising ideas to help him out. If you have any ideas, please let one of the officers know.

Vivat Jesus!

Auxiliary News

Thank you to all who attended our February meeting. This month is our book drive for the Children’s Hospital of Minnesota – Minneapolis campus. Our original flyer for the book drive lists dates from February 8th to March 8th; however, as an auxiliary, we agreed to extend the book drive through the end of the fish fry season. This allows individuals to continue to donate their new or gently used books, new Legos, and/or new stuffed animals if forgotten during the advertised times. I want to extend my thanks to Sandy Resler for getting the Church of St. Steven’s in Anoka, MN to donate their leftover children to young adult books from their own used book sale. I do not currently have a number of donated books, but I am excited to see what we can accomplish.

Speaking of the fish fry season, please continue to support the Auxiliary and the men’s council over the next six weeks. This support can look like baking for the bake sale, helping set up the tables, helping collect dirty dishes, helping individuals make their plates, and so much more. We do not get as much help as we used to because the volunteer requirements for the confirmation teens have changed in the past few years. Any and all help is appreciated.

Our last big topic from our meeting was the discussion and changes made to our bylaws. I will be emailing out the updated version of the bylaws as soon as I can. One change that can be discussed from our bylaw changes is the addition of “angels” to our auxiliary. “Angels” are girls ages 13-17, who are of the Christian faith, and wish to join the auxiliary. We do already have one angel, Sarah, so please talk with individuals who are in this age range to gauge their interest.

Thursday, March 19th, is our next meeting at 7 pm. We will have updates on our bake sale numbers, continued discussion about those who want to attend the Spring Meeting hosted by the Maple Grove Auxiliary and is officers’ nominations.
See you all then!!

Best,
Jenny Resler

47th Annual Concertina Bowl
Was on Saturday, January 31st.
Being a sunny day with mild temperatures, attendance was more than last year with Volunteers and paid 413.

The kitchen ran out of polish with 1 ½ pounds of Roast Beef left. Many thanks for the thirty some volunteers that made the day a success.

Pictures at the end of the Guidepost of two good bands and the KC dance floor that draw many ballroom dancers from the Midwest.

Save the date 1/30/27
for the 48th year of Concertina Bowl.

FS Notes
Raffle Tickets and Fundraiser
Letters should have been received by each member by now. Please read it over and try to at least buy the Raffle tickets. We as a council get half of the money brought in for each ticket sold. I would like to get all tickets and money turned in by April 1st. We will be selling raffle tickets at all fish fries. If by some chance you need more, please contact Gerald Arel.

Have you moved, have you changed your phone number, have you made a change to your email address? Please keep the council updated when you have a change of address, change of phone number and finally a change to your email. It really helps us to keep track of where to send things to you. If you have any changes, please forward them onto the FS.

Please look at the back of your membership card. What do you see? It has my contact info. Please make sure your loved ones know this in case you are sick or have passed away.

Former Officers,
The FS is looking for Council Jewels that you may have in your possession. Please turn them in as soon as possible. Bring them to the office at St. Tim’s, we have a mail slot that they can be left in. Thank you.

Members in hospital etc.?
Please contact the FS so that the council can send a card.

Please stand by for an important announcement from the Grand Knight

Safe Environment
The parish has asked us to provide regular training on Safe- Environment Guidelines for those that volunteer with us at Knights of Columbus events. Beginning this month, we will include these guidelines in the guidepost as an ongoing reference, outlining best practices for maintaining a safe and respectful environment. Please read the attachment at the end of the Guidepost to familiarize yourself with these guidelines.

Thank you! You may now return to your normal browsing of the Guidepost
