Grand Knights Message

Greetings Knights and ladies. Thanks to all members who have sent in their dues in a timely matter. Every year a few members want to quit the council for various reasons. Please reconsider as it leads to a lot of paper work for the Financial Secretary; phone calls by the Trustees and the loss of valuable active and inactive members.

The council has a lot of fund raising projects, but we also have numerous social activities throughout the year. That said, congratulations to Ken Wallace and David Martin who became 50 year members in May and June. Ken received his 50-year membership pin at the Year-End Dinner and David received his at the August membership meeting.

The July 28 Golf Outing had a good turn out of over forty golfers. Thanks to Vern  and  Barb Shereck for chairing this event and to Jay and Sue Weidell for hosting the party after. I hear everyone had a good time.

The council trip to the see the Twins had a full bus of forty one fans. Only nine Knights and families from our council attended with parishioners from St. Tim’s and friends. Everyone saw a good game with the Twins winning 3-1. We were back at St. Tim’s around 10 PM. The bus did go over the I-35 Bridge on the way to the game, luckily two days before the bridge collapse.

Coming in September is the start of school and St. Tim’s Carnival. Start your fall by working a shift at the grill or by attending the carnival. The men’s fishing trip is the weekend of September 8th and 9th. There are still openings, call Steve Silverdahl for more information at 763-786-5430.

Yours in Christ

Fall Classic Special Olympics

There has been a change from last year. District 7, which our council is a member of has been assigned Friday November 9th at 11:00 am at Southtown Bowl. Workers help athletes with special needs to bowl in the correct order, provide encouragement and other light duties. The State Fall Classic Committee needs complete names, addresses, phone numbers, council name for all volunteers. Please send it to Marc Peters, in Lino Lakes, Minn. no later then 9/25/07.  We will car pool from St. Tim’s parking lot, north of the kitchen leaving at 10:30. Call me at 786-62XX so I know how many are coming and if you wish to car pool by 9/25.
