We have the St. Tim's festival coming up in September. Also in the month we will have the fishing trip. If you are interested in one of these events call Larry Silverdahl or Dick Dols. Our next meeting in September is a pot luck meal. We get together and have some snacks before the regular meeting. The meeting will be held in St. Tim's Annex.
In October we will have the marathon to work on. Come and help if you can. Also in October we have the steak fry.
May God Bless you and keep you
Dick Smith
Grand Knight
This month we pray for the following people. For Carmen Gregerson, Bob Hosford, Margo Arett, for the sister of Dick Smith and for the Grand Knight of the Crystal counsel.
Please keep them and each other in your prayers.
Be glad of life
because it gives
you the chance
to love and to work
and to play and to
look up at the stars
You may have noticed that the men's dues form includes information about the Ladies Auxiliary dues. You may send your Knight's dues and your dues ($3.50) in the same envelope (2 checks-- 1 to KC 5141 Ladies Auxiliary, 1 to KC 5141 for the men). We believe this should make it easier for you to join the ladies auxiliary.
The first general meeting is September 19 where the ladies host a potluck before the meeting.
If you want to have some Fall Fun, consider going bowling with the Ladies Auxiliaries. The State Bowling Tournament hosted by Epiphany on Saturday, September 29, 2001, at Maple Lanes in Fridley. Registration begins at 8 am and bowling at 9 am. Cost is $22.00 (bowling and lunch), $10.00 (lunch only). Please send your check payable to Knights of Columbus Auxiliary #10138 along with your bowling handicap to me by SEPTEMBER 1st, 2001.

A little known benefit that Minnesota Knights have is a direct line to the Rochester hospitals. The Minnesota State Council has a representative in Rochester who is familiar with the Mayo Clinic and services in that area. He is available to any brother knight and their family or friends in need of assistance related to their medical treatment. Helping with transportation, housing arrangements, assisting with medical appointments and visiting the sick are a few of his duties. There is no charge to the knights for these services. The Rochester KC Bureau, as it is called, is considered an emergency access to the Mayo Health Center.
If you, a member of your family, or a friend needs help with an emergency medical problem, needs a second opinion, or if your local doctor can't get to the bottom of the problem, please don't hesitate to give our representative a call. He may be able to help get you immediate attention. He can also help with room reservations, directions, and general advice.
The Minnesota Knights established the Knights of Columbus Rochester Bureau in 1931. Since bureau inception thousands of hospital visits have been made and many people have been helped at the Mayo Clinic obtaining appointments and room reservations. They have received answers to questions ranging from "Where can I go to Mass?" to " Will Mayo Clinic accept my particular health insurance?" The Rochester Bureau is available to any person referred by a Knight of Columbus. The Rochester Bureau does not have money available to help pay for room or hospital bills but can help with the other services mentioned.
Our representative in Rochester is Jim Arendt. You can call him at home at 507-289-2416 or at work at 507-289-3600. His occupation is that of a mortician so his work number is a funeral parlor. If you are hospitalized in Rochester he is listed in the hospital directory under "KC hospital visitor" and will be happy to stop in and visit.
