Grand Knights Message

Greetings Knights and ladies. Before the September membership meeting we had our annual pot luck dinner. I would like to thank the Ladies Auxiliary members for bringing the delicious food items. The 2 nd Sunday breakfast, the first one this council year, was staffed quite well with knights. Let’s keep it up. Thanks to the workers and Garry Hallman for chairing it. Proceeds go to St. Tim’s Roof Repair Fund. Congratulations to Terry Wagner who attended the 2 nd and 3 rd degree in Fridley K.C. Hall October 8 th.

On the way to my nephews wedding October 14 near Enfield, CT., Jan and I stopped at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. One of the many exhibits was one about the life of Babe Ruth who went to a Catholic High School in Baltimore as a youth. There were two trophy cups inside a case that caught my eye. One was from a K.C. Council in Milwaukee, WI. The other one was presented to Babe Ruth September 22, 1920 from Minneapolis Council #435. I have no idea on the connection but it is interesting where trophies end up sometimes.

In closing let’s support the memorial mass November 15. This years mass honors the deceased Knights, wives and children from this last year as well as years past. Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Yours in Christ

Dick Dols
Grand Knight

For Carmon Gregerson who was diagnosed with lung cancer.

 Senior Party

The senior Christmas party is here again. It is on Friday December 1st. Our usual arrangements are well under way. We have the entertainment lined up. We have talked to Diane at the church and she will be helping to prepare the meal. We need help from the council. First, we will need donations of turkeys. Diane will need help deboning those turkeys. We need your help setting up on that Friday. Last, but certainly not least, we need a hot dish and salad from as many members of the council as possible. Even if you do not plan on helping out, a hot dish and salad dropped off would be greatly appreciated.

Ladies Auxiliary

The State Auxiliary held its annual workshop on October 14 th. It was hosted by the Bloomington council and was attended by Jean Ackermann, Nancy Hill, Delores Yenor and Mary Hosford. The living rosary was said sitting at our tables rather than standing which was better this year. As you know, as we get older its’ harder for us to stand for a long period of time. All of us had a wonderful time.

Next month the Knights will have our memorial mass. The auxiliary will serve hord’ouvers. A short meeting will follow.

President
