GUIDEPOST
Grand Knights Message
Greetings Knights and Ladies. I hope everyone had a blessed and safe Easter.
All of the council fundraisers will be done by the end of April. I will report on Tootsie Roll results next month. I would like to thank everyone who donated their time to make the Senior Citizens Christmas party, Concertina Bowl, 2nd Sunday breakfasts, and fish fries a success. Thanks for everyone’s support in helping with these activities as much as possible. It is very difficult to host these activities without adequate help. In addition to hosting fundraisers, our council also has six fun activities planned for this summer, which should appeal to many: Casino Bus Trip - win money! Year End Dinner - good food; Golf Outing - golf and a social event afterwards; Bus Trip to Dome for Twins game - Dome Dogs and Walk Away Sundaes; Family Camporee- get-together with families from our and other councils; Men's Fishing Trip - fishing, gambling, and camaraderie. Watch for upcoming articles. I hope to see you at some of these activities.
The April Steak Fry was well attended. Jeff Davis spoke about the Minnesota Marriage Amendment that may be on the voting ballet this fall. Wedding Anniversary Certificates of Commendation were given to Mike and Kathy Huey (40 years), Dale and Marlene Dowson (50 years), and Mike and Lou Klaers (50 years).
Yours in Christ,
Dick Dols
Grand Knight
Prayer Concerns
For John Hassler, whose daughter-in-law passed away due to a car accident in April. For Carmon Gregerson, who was in the Hospital in April for knee surgery.
Ladies Auxiliary
We had a very good turn out for the state convention. The following ladies attended: Nancy Hill, Kristi LaValle, Delores Yenor, Mary Hosford, and Jean Ackermann our State President.
Ladies night out will be held at Hankerings on May 17 th at 6:30 PM.
The bake sales at the fish fries were very profitable. It is our only fundraiser of the year. Thank you ladies and Gerald Arel for a great job baking.
Remember we are hosting the bowling tournament (for fun) in September at Blainebrook. Gladys Resler is in charge of this event.
Have a wonderful and fun summer. See you in the fall.
Mary Hosford
President
Notes of Interest
The council Year End Dinner will be June 23 rd at Blainebrook’s Brook Hall. Social begins at 6:00 pm with dinner at 7:00 pm. The Minnesota Knights of Columbus state camporee will be August 25, 26 & 27 at Cannon Falls Campground in Cannon Falls. There will be more details in June Guidepost for the above activities. There are two positions open for next council year. Anyone interested please call Dick Dols for details. It is a lot of work at times, but very rewarding.
Prayer Thoughts
To be honest; to be kind; to earn a little and to spend a little less; to make, upon the whole, a family happier for his presence; to renounce, when that shall be necessary, and not be embittered; to keep a few friends, but these without capitulation; above all, on the same condition, to keep friends with himself: here is a task for all that a man has of fortitude and delicacy.

Casino Run
A flyer attached to this guidepost advertises an upcoming casino trip sponsored by the Ladies. If you would like to sign up more than one person, please use the space provided on the bottom of the flyer.
