GUIDEPOST

Grand Knights Message

Greetings Knights and ladies. The Concertina Bowl was held after last months Guidepost went to press. The results were good, as over 500 Customers came and enjoyed some good concertina music.

The 2 nd Sunday Breakfast the council tried out a new pork sausage instead of ham and the results were good. We also earmarked the profits of the breakfast to go to the St. Tim’s roof repair project. That seemed to bring in more people after mass.

Many thanks to Art Ohotto, who put many hours into the Concertina Bowl and the many volunteers who worked the above two activities.

Congratulations to Gary Exley who was initiated into the Knights of Columbus February 12 th at the Anoka KC Hall. Let’s make him welcome.

March there will be five fish fries. This is our major fundraiser for the year. If you prefer not to work please come and enjoy a good meal.

Yours in Christ

Dick Dols
Grand Knight

Prayer Concerns

For Bob Cuddigan, who will be having Carpal-Tunnel surgery.

For Jerome Jaspers, who is doctoring a enlarged prostate.

For Ed Sherburne, who had prostate surgery.

For Bob Hosford, who passed away February 6 at the age of 70. He was a 40 year member of the Knights of Columbus. May he rest in peace.

We pray for these members and for all our members and their families.

Ladies Auxiliary

First, I would like to thank all knights and Auxiliary for all the support you gave to our family with Bob’s leukemia. Bob’s leukemia was a battle he fought for almost 5 years. Thanks again.

In March we have the election of officers. I hope to see some new officers for next year.

The state convention will be held Saturday April 22 nd. It is hosted by Minneapolis council #435, Church of the Holy Name. Let’s have a lot of the Auxiliary members in attendance.

St. Joseph ’s-Centennial council Porkchop Dinner last month was canceled. No new date has been set.

2 nd Sunday Brunch

Later winter and the early part of spring are always busy for our council. March is no exception. The reason is dual events in March the second Sunday breakfast and the Lenten fish fry on the same weekend. Marche's Breakfast is on the 12 th. We will be serving Egg Bakes and ham plus our usual French toast, pancakes, and hash browns. The egg bakes will need to be prepared the night before. Your help is needed for our second Sunday breakfast. Please consider helping Saturday night or one of two shifts on Sunday. The shift times are from 7am to 10:30am and 10am to close, usually about 1pm. Please call me with a time you could work . Thank you for your help.
