GUIDEPOST
Greetings Knights and Ladies. The K.C. State Convention was May 19 th to 21 st in Moorhead. Most people think conventions are all about nomination speeches, acceptance speeches, elections, etc. The KC Convention starts out Friday night with a social get together. Saturday morning, the day starts with a memorial mass for deceased members. The state chairman reports on the many state coordinated activities. The afternoon session concludes with the election of Supreme Convention delegates. Jim Ackermann was elected as a delegate. He and his wife Jean will attend the convention in Orlando in early August. The banquet on Saturday night is the highlight of the day. Hospitality follows at both the state and District Deputies rooms. Sunday morning consists of awards presentations. Our council received a certificate of participants’ award and a state officers’ award in recognition of an outstanding Family Activities project. The convention closes with the celebration of mass.
The new council year begins July 1 st with many of the same activities as last year. One change is that we will not be doing the Marathon for Non-Public Education this fall. I would like to thank everyone who helped make council year 2005 /2006 a success. I am looking forward to the coming year and pray it will be a good one.
Yours in Christ,
