Grand Knights Message
Greetings Knights and ladies. Congratulations to Kenneth Wallace and David Martin for attaining 50 years of service in the Knights of Columbus.
The month of December started with the council hosting a fun event, the Seniors Christmas Party December 1st. I want to recognize Ken and Sandy Resler for organizing this event and the many Knights and ladies for their support. We fed and entertained some 300 senior citizens from the Blaine area.
The December 2nd Sunday Breakfast was a huge success. Bill Ohland and I co-ordinate this event. We have an excellent early and late crew. The St. Tim’s Council of Women had a Christmas cookie sale and the Wee Care We Care had a winter coat drive. The big draw in the Hospitality Center was meeting St. Nicholas, which brought many families. Proceeds will go to Wee Care Wee Share Ministry. We had a nice turnout at the December membership meeting. The highlight was the delicious Brandy Alexander’s and Grasshoppers served after the meeting.
Upcoming events in January are the Wild Game Feed, 2nd Sunday Breakfast and the 29th Annual Concertina Bowl. As of 11/30, there are 221 members in our council. Please, please call one of the chairmen of these activities to offer your help. Most shifts are three or three ½ hours long. If you don’t want to work, come and eat or enjoy the music at the Concertina Bowl. In closing, I hope everyone had a joyful Christmas as we look ahead to 2007. We all have much to be thankful for.
Yours in Christ,
Dick Dols
Grand Knight
