Grand Knight’s Message
Brother Knights,
Our cribbage tournament has begun. We will continue it after our next general meeting on March 21st.

Our poker tournament will be held after the May general meeting.

We will be having our Palm Sunday breakfast on March 24th. The church will be hosting a ministry fair at the same time as the breakfast. I am looking for volunteers to help with the breakfast. Please e-mail me at the link below or contact Don Hosford to sign up.

Vivat Jesus!

FS Notes
Have you moved, have you changed your phone number, have you made a change to your email address? Please keep the council updated when you have a change of address, change of phone number and finally a change to your email. It really helps us to keep track of where to send things to you. If you have any changes, please forward them onto the FS.

Please look at the back of your membership card. What do you see? It has my contact info. Please make sure your loved ones know this in case you are sick or have passed away.

Former Officers,
The FS is looking for Council Jewels that you may have in your possession. Please turn them in as soon as possible. Bring them to the office at St. Tim’s, we have a mail slot that they can be left in. Thank you.

Members in hospital etc.?
Please contact the FS so that the council can send a card.

Annual Fundraising Letter
You should be getting a letter looking at ways you can donate to some worthy causes. Please take the time to look it over. Included in that letter will be 2 Knight’s Foundation raffle tickets that hopefully you can buy. Half the money raised for that does come back to the council. Also included in the mailing is a note from our Grand Knight, he has listed a number of ways for everyone to help out the council.

Insurance Agent Comments:
Happy Easter!

Easter is the very end of March, the 31st, so I will take this time to hope you conclude your Lenten observances with a celebration of the Resurrection!

March is Ethics Awareness Month for the insurance industry. Oxford Languages defines ethics as “moral principles that govern a person’s behavior or the conducting of an activity” In many professions there is an ethical code that practitioners are to observe. In medicine, we’ve boiled down the Hippocratic oath to, “First, do no harm.” Attorneys have the American Bar Association’s “Model Rules of Professional Conduct.” In psychology there are codes of conduct for both treatment and for research.

The insurance industry is no different. Here at the Knights of Columbus I think all members are familiar with our founding principles: Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism. These have been ingrained in us. However, there are also four Core Values that all who represent the Knights subscribe to. By “represent the Knights” we include Supreme Officers, employees, independent contractors like me, and other vendors and contractors who are expected to live up to our four Core Values. From our Code of Ethics and Conduct handbook the Core Values are these:

Integrity: Firm adherence to ethics, honesty, and a moral code.
Professionalism: Promoting the highest standards in all we do.
Excellence: Leading by example and constantly striving to be the best.
Respect: Treating each other with the highest regard.
I consider it an honor to be assigned to serve your council and I take seriously my responsibility to care for each of you members. Furthering Blessed Michael McGivney’s vision of caring for the widow and orphan is my goal.

I hope to always live up these Core Values in all my work with the council and with each and every one of you.

Vivat Jesus!

Regional Knights of Columbus Meeting
On Thursday, April 11th, our council is hosting the Region 9 Huddle meeting. At this meeting a lot will be happening and all members are invited to come, officers highly recommended.

*This will begin promptly at 6:30pm*
At the beginning of the meeting we will start with a Fraternal Benefit Event. Each council present can count this as one of their 2 FBE for the year. Each council is required to participate in 2 and have 10/14 different eligible men present between the 2 FBEs. (Amount needed is based on membership count)

Following the FBE, we will be doing the following…
1. Opening prayer

2. Pledge of Allegiance.

3. Break for pizza.

4. Short introduction as to why we are here.

5. Open dialogue.

• What’s working, what’s not? How can we fix it?
• What’s holding you back from inviting new men and their families into the council?
• What are your programs that invite men into the council? Do you have church drives scheduled? Ceremonials scheduled? Your own team?
• What needs do you have that we are not providing?

Please RSVP your presence to DD Jeremy Hadash by Thursday April 4th by email at ipgk@kc5141.org or call me if you plan on attending.

The count is needed so we know how much pizza to order.

National Eucharistic Revival
Departing from the headwaters of the Mississippi, the northern arm of the Pilgrimage will descend through the Midwestern United States, pass through Wisconsin and Illinois, and meet up with the other three Pilgrimage routes in Indianapolis at the 10th National Eucharistic Congress. This route may be the shortest in distance, but it has no shortage of opportunities for encounter with Christ! Pilgrims will attend Mass every day of their journey, along with regular evenings of reflection and adoration. As they travel, pilgrims will grow closer to Our Lord through service to local communities, inviting the most marginalized among us to be revived by the Real Presence of Jesus Christ. Will you join us on this historic journey?
Many stops in between the weekend stops below. All are invited to participate.
