Grand Knight’s Message
The first half of our fraternal year is completed and now we must focus on finishing the year strong. As we prepare our activities coming in the next 6 months, our goal is the increase the membership or GTO (Grow The Order). I know it may seem like a struggle, but the most common way, yet old fashioned is to simply ask. This is a response that many get when asked “Why did they join?” Adjusting our programs seemed like the right fit, but the adjusting is not yet done; as we’ve got some more work to do if we are going to get this ship moving in the right direction. Stay tuned as more changes are coming in the near future.
The change to having a council Christmas party seemed to work a lot better and everyone had a wonderful time. For those who missed it, it will be at the same time next year. Let’s continue work together as we strive to become that group everyone wants be a part of. Thank you to those who shared their thoughts and ideas.
Upcoming videos at future meetings- In January, we will see 2 videos: Speech from Matt Birk & Mass of the Holy Spirit Highlights. In February prior to the meetings I invite the ladies also to watch a video on the Supreme Convention as this will highlight what we expect to see Summer 2019.

Happy New Year Auxilians and families,
Jim and I hope you all had a safe and blessed Christmas season. We welcome you and your families to 2019, as we look forward to serving you again this year. During 2018, we documented 3615 volunteer hours and donated over $3673 to various organizations. St. Tim’s received the most donations throughout the year. Thank you, Margo, for collecting and submitting this information to State President Joyce Korsten.
After wrapping gifts for a couple of families at our December meeting, we had a short business meeting. Grand Knight Jeremy Hadash invited us to volunteer at the August Supreme Convention to be held in Minneapolis and told of future member recruitment plans. Due to increased security, the St. Tim’s Parish Center and kitchen doors may require keycard access. Contact Kristy LaValle to meet you at the entrance using the auxiliary’s assigned keycard. Reminder--There is no meeting in January. We have decided to stop hosting the coat check, but please consider helping elsewhere during the 12-hour Concertina Bowl on Saturday, January 27th at Blainbrook.
In February, we will be having a Respect Life meeting for Grannys Closet (http://www.grannyscloset.org). They need facial tissue, bathroom tissue, lotions, cleaning supplies, handy wipes, Clorox wipes, laundry soaps for sensitive skin. Grannys Closet hosts a warehouse site in each county stocked with clothing, personal care items, and general household necessities to help county and agency workers fill the needs of their clients at absolutely no cost to them. Thank you, Bev, for arranging for a speaker to attend the February meeting. Remember we start our bake sales the Friday before Lent (March 1). Please have your baked goods at the hospitality center between 4:00 and 5:00 pm. Prices will be the same as last year. Help is appreciated for the bake sales or Fish Fries.

In 2019 the Guidepost will be going electronic and sent to members via email. Currently you should be receiving test copies via email and the usual paper copy. If you are a member and not receiving the electronic version that means we don’t have a correct email for you or we don’t have your email at all.
If you are the spouse of a member that is deceased we still want to get you information on what is happening in the council. If you wish to receive the Guidepost, via email, PLEASE provide your email address to FS Gerald Arel, ASAP! Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
