GUIDEPOST

Grand Knights Message

Greetings Knights and ladies. I hope everyone is enjoying our lack of snow, except for the light snowstorm January 15th. As we move into February let’s not forget to ask at least one Catholic gentleman to join the Knights of Columbus. If you find someone interested, be sure to contact the membership chairman or me.

The St. Tim’s Wild Game Feed was a combined effort of KC’s and wives, Men’s club and Council of Women. I think everyone worked well together. There were 224 people that went through the line. Many thanks to Dan Otte, who co-ordinate everything. Proceeds went to St. Tim’s Outreach program.

The next day, January 14th, Al Loerzel chaired the 2nd Sunday Breakfast. Attendance was down due to the cold weather. Thanks to Al for all the shopping, calling workers and opening up in the morning. Proceeds will go towards the council seminary program.

I will report on the Concertina Bowl next month. In closing, February brings us the Super Bowl, and the start of hopefully another successful Fish Fry season.

Yours in Christ,

Dick Dols
Grand Knight

Prayer Concerns

For Jerry Korkowski who is doing quite well with his cancer treatments.

For Bob Cuddigan’s sister-in-law who had a serious operation for obstructed bowel.

For Jack Heitzig’s wife Mary, who is now living in a nursing home after medical problems.

We pray for these people, all our members and their families.

2nd Sunday Breakfast

The February breakfast will be on the 11th at St. Tim’s Hospitality Center. Shifts are 7 to 10:30am and 10:30 to 1:30pm. Please call Dick Dols to let him know of your interest to work and the preferred shift. Calls will be also be made. We will be serving an egg bake and proceeds will be going to the Teen Mission Trip.

Notes of Interest

The February officers meeting will be held in the Annex. OFFICERS: This is an important meeting as we will be planning upcoming Fish Fries.

Fish Fries

Help!! Lent is just around the corner and our first Fish Fry will be February 16th. This is a warm up for Lent. This year we will need your help again. So, if you are able to help, we sure can find a spot for you: setting up Friday afternoons, during the Fish Fry and clean up. Anyone, who can’t make it Fridays, help is also needed on Saturday mornings, usually at 8am cleaning fryers and cleaning up the kitchen. Thank you and God Bless.
