Grand Knights Message
G reetings Knights and ladies. I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving. It is hard to believe the year is almost over with Christmas around the corner. I worked the Special Olympics Bowling Classic Friday November 10 th. This is a state event where athletes came from all over Minnesota. There were 160 athletes on my shift. That is why many volunteers are needed. It was a great experience and I hope to work it next year. I would like to thank the Gerald Arel family, Mary Hosford, Kristi La Valle, Jean Ackermann, Judy Van Den Broeke, and her son Nick for representing the council on Sunday the 12 th.
The November 2 nd Sunday Breakfast had a good turnout of workers and also of parishioners after all three masses. By my count, we fed a total of 180. The egg bake was excellent.
The November Memorial was well attended and was a very nice ceremony to honor deceased Knights, wives and children. I would like to thank the Ladies Auxiliary for bringing hors d’ oeuvres for the luncheon after mass. Please remember Bob Hosford, Frank Nieland, Marilyn Michaels and Dean Witucki. These people have left us within the past year. May we keep all of their families in our prayers.
On the brighter side, there is one activity I wish to promote. The Senior Citizens Christmas party December 1 st where we entertain the seniors in the Blaine area. This is a family activity so come, help and enjoy a joyous evening with a visit from Santa at the end. In closing from Jan and myself, we wish each one of you a Blessed Holiday season.
Yours in Christ
