Grand Knight's Message

Happy Holidays to you all! I hope you do not eat too much as we celebrate these holidays. Let us also remember those who are not as well off as we are. Better yet, why don't you try to help a family who can use some help through these trying times.

We had a great turn out for the memorial mass. Coming up next is the Christmas Party for the seniors on December 7th. If you are coming to this function please bring one hot dish and salad with you. This helps feed all of these people. We will also be doing the candy bags at the officers meeting.

Please keep in your prayers all of the people who died in the New York twin towers and the Pentagon, the plane crashes in New York's Queens section and in Pennsylvania and their families. We pray for our Knights and their families who have passed on or are sick. The latest Knight to die was Francis Frank. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.

This month our prayers go out to Dave Van DeBrooke, Bob Hosford, Byron Bauer, Frank Nieland and family, and for Bob Murphey. I am sorry if I missed anybody.

God Bless,

Happy Holidays,

Dick Smith
Grand Knight

Ladies Auxiliary

Thanks to all the ladies who worked at the November's Breakfast and the Special Olympics. Your support of our KC men is appreciated.

Ladies provided the snacks after the Memorial Mass on November 14th. Thank you all for your participation and special thanks to Anita Loerzel for leading us in song.

Margo Arett is taking orders for sweatshirts and polo shirts with the KC or Ladies logo plus name. Cost $19.00. If you are interested, call Margo

Thank you, Bev Lodermeier, for making sure St. Tim's receives the donation toward the Thanksgiving baskets.

The Resler's still need help for the Seniors' Christmas Party on December 7th. Donated turkeys and deboning are still needed. Please bring a hot dish and salad (sugar free preferred & no lettuce) to share.

With Christmas right around the corner, the Ladies voted to "adopt" needy families. Bev Lodermeier will give the family information to Sandy Resler, Delores Yenor & Margo Arett who will be shopping for gifts. The wrapping/potluck party will be on December 12th (date has been changed), 6:00 p.m. at Delores Yenor's. For directions call Delores. Plan to bring 1) dish to share 2) wrapping paper 3) tape 4) scissors and 5) $5 ornament to exchange.

Volunteer hours need to be tallied early next year for January through December 2001.

There will not be a January meeting, however, January 26th, 2002, the Ladies will handle the coat check. Jan Dols and Anita Loerzel are chairing this event. Please call Jan, or Anita if you are planning to attend and can volunteer some time to help us check coats. We will begin around 10 a.m. and go until about 12:30 a.m.

May you all have a happy and safe Holiday Season.

BENEFITS CORNER

It is that time of year when we all start thinking of gifts. What are we going to give to our children and grandchildren?

Think of a gift that doesn't wear out.

Think of a gift that becomes more valuable over time.

Think of a gift that lasts for their lifetime.

Think of a gift that becomes a valuable keepsake from which to remember the giver.

Your gift of $1/day or less can become $100's of thousands of dollars in cash value or death benefit in your child or grandchild's lifetime!!

You have probably guessed that I am talking about the gift of a children's permanent life insurance policy. How many of you started your insurance program with the gift of a policy taken out by a loving parent or grandparent? How many wish that a parent or grandparent had given you the early start?

One of my best moments is the opportunity to explain to a young man or woman how valuable their early start in an insurance program has become, and to hear the appreciation that they have for the relative that thought that far in advance.

Call me today!!

Senior Party News

Brother Knights, the senior Christmas Party is almost upon us again. The date is Friday December 7th. Preparations are well underway and I am happy to say that my phone has been ringing off the hook. I am sure we will have a full turn out even though Fridley Convalescent has closed. We need turkeys like usual. The turkey's can be delivered the week of November 26th through the 30th. As usual we will need help deboning them. We will also need help setting up that morning. We will be bagging the peanuts and candy at the December officers meeting.
