Greetings Knights and ladies. July went by too fast for me, with the days getting shorter, the county fairs starting up and the Vikings starting football practice. I need to report on the activities after the last membership meeting.
The Blaine Blazing 4th parade was on June 23rd which was a nice day. Six Knights and Ladies rode the float, and 4th degree members marched along side. Special thanks to Katrina Silverdahl and her friend for representing the Council as queens.
Installation of officers has held on June 26th hosted by the Anoka Council, which was not well attended by our Council. Other Councils had the same attendance problem. The State Deputy H. Eugene Hippe was in attendance. I believe next year our Council will be the host.
Lastly, the year end dinner was well attended; 61 people were there. The food was excellent and everyone seemed to be having a good time. Thanks to Art Ohotto for providing music during the meal. The price of the meal, $12.50 was higher than past years. I apologize for this. In the past, Bla-Cora Home Association paid for the meals is now short of funds. However, the officers decided at the May meeting to raise the price, so that the Council and Bla-Cora would split the bill.
In closing, have a good August. Attendance at the meetings especially Past Grand Knights is greatly appreciated.
Yours in Christ
Dick Dols
Grand Knight
Prayer Concerns
For Carmon Gregerson, who passed away July 9th.
For Mary Hosford, who is recuperating nicely after two operations last month.
For Bob Cuddigan. who had laser prostate surgery July 16th.
We pray for all of these people and for all Knights and with their families.
Ladies Auxiliary
I want to thank everyone for all the prayers, cards and phone calls after my surgery. I’m doing well and it will take time to heal and be back to my old self. Thanks again.
Don’t forget bowling for fun on September 15 at AMF Southtown Lanes. It is hosted by Marian Council. The cost is $25.00 for bowling and lunch or $12.00 for just the lunch. That is a correction from what I mentioned the cost to be. Contact Gladys Resler if you are interested at 651-257-06XX.
