Grand Knight’s Message
Greeting Knights and Ladies. Congratulations to Bennett A. Johnson, a member of our council who attained 50 consecutive years of membership as of March 11, 2005. We will recognize him at a future event.
Our council is not active in the Pro-Life movement, but I have a couple items that I wanted to mention about it. The Order will celebrate the International Knights of Columbus day of the Unborn child on the feast of the Annunciation which is on April 4 th. Members are encouraged to attend mass or say a rosary that day. Second, the Anoka Knights of Columbus are sponsoring a safe place for newborns banquet May 7 th from 6-9 PM. Safe place for newborns allows a mother to bring her unharmed newborn, up to 3 days old and leave her or him at any hospital in the State of Minnesota anonymously and free from fear of prosecution. Any questions or for more information about the banquet or safe place, please give me a call.
The fish fries are over. Many thanks go out to Dick Epp and Dave Lodermier who co-coordinated all seven fish fries. Also a big thank you to the many Knights and Ladies who gave up their Friday nights to make this fundraiser a huge success. There will be an appreciation steak fry in April (see enclosed article).
Lastly the election of officers will be at the May membership meeting. I will be calling and asking members to hold a council office. It can be for one year or in the case of Chancellor or Deputy Grand Knight a few years to hopefully to move up the ranks.

Prayer Concerns
Each month we take time to pray for members of our council and their families. This month we pray for the following people:
For Bob Hosford, who had hernia surgery. For Bob Overkamp, who is recovering from a fall where he had four broken ribs and a pierced lung. For Virginia Hallman, who is recovering from double pneumonia.
Tootsie Roll Campaign
The tootsie roll drive will be on two weekends this year. April 22-24 at Wal-Mart at Riverdale crossing located at Highway 10 and Round Lake Blvd. April 29-30 at Village Wal-Mart at 109 th and Lexington. April 29-30 at Star Liquor’s 109 th and University. Call Jerome Hacker and he will schedule you based on your preferred times. Proceeds go to ARC of Anoka County. Anyone who has not worked this event before should know that it is easy and fun. Smile and greet people. Everyone gets a tootsie roll, donation or not. But, you will be surprised to find that donations will be given more often than not and, most importantly it’s all for a great cause.
2 nd Sunday Breakfast
Our next breakfast is on April 10 th at St. Tim’s hospitality center. Set up starts at 7:00 AM and the breakfast will be served, through to clean up at 1:30 PM. We always have a good time, so come in to give us a hand. We are having an egg bake with sausage. Please call Al Loerzel if you are interested in helping.
Steak Fry
The April steak fry will be on the 20 th before the general membership meeting. We have passed a sign up sheet around during our regular meetings. If you have not been able to sign up yet, please give Al Loerzel a call. Please RSVP by April 15 th, so the steak can be purchased. Don’t wait, an accurate count is needed. This steak fry will be a complimentary one for all our members and their wives in appreciation for all the hard work on the fish fries and 2 nd Sunday breakfasts.
